I wish I had been able to make it, but I was in Reno for the Hot August Nights car event. Will this Redondo cruise be a weekly event for Toyotas, or do you think this was a one-timer? I'd like to come next time!
Since this looks like it was a big success, I'd like to invite any and all vintage or custom Toyota owners to come to the Friday Cruise Night in Northridge. Now in the summer, there are typically 150-plus cars each week. Mostly vintage American, but a growing number of imports. The cruise night goes all year, but not much of a turnout in cold or foul weather. For those who live on the Northern part of the LA area, it might be the answer on a Friday with traffic.
WHERE? Flames BBQ in the K-Mart center on Corbin Ave at Plummer St. in a better part of the San Fernando Valley. Exit 118 Fwy at Tampa, go south to Plummer, West on Plummer to Corbin. Flames BBQ is in the south corner of the lot. It starts as early as 4:00, and can go all the way til 10 on a warm summer night. best time to get there is probably 6-7.

Yeah, looks like it was a cool, fun-filled event - and a good location too! Maybe I'll make it there one of these days! Charles, thanks for reminding us about the weekly Cruise Night in Northridge. You gave me an idea of having a thread dedicated to Cruise Night locations.... check it out HERE I know it's always tough for people at one end of town to make a meet at the other end of town, especially when it comes to a big area like Southern California. So maybe this is a way for Toyota owners in different regions to get together. |
