I have noticed that all us members are pigeon-holed into forums based on model alone. Well how about the commonalities among models? Many different models shared the same engine, transmission and other components. We should have a group of forums based on systems like engine, transmission, suspension, electrical systems and/or years in production. My car has a 20R engine, which was used in many models and isn't totally different from the 22R engine. I think there would be some benefit. What do you all think?

Breaking forums down into even more categories isn't necessarily the answer. If there are too many sub-forums, there will be some members that tend to only look under their model, while others will only look under engines. It might also make things more difficult for members to keep track of so many sub-forums and their threads. We know our forum isn't perfect. When we created the forum, we felt it was best to break it down by models, and it has worked fairly good to date. It is a difficult thing to please everyone no matter how the forums are set up. And as you said yourself elsewhere: Boy participation is sparse. The Corona board is enemic. With that in mind, I don't think it makes much sense to create more sub-forums. However, you do bring up a good point. I'll bring this up with some other moderators and see what they say..

But I'm sure you understand my point. If I want to talk about the 20R engine, it would be great to be able to talk to everyone that has one. I'm working on a carburetor problem right now, and need some opinions.
