I had a BMW E30 325is before, which by my standards was a reasonably old car (1987, 240k miles) that I spend a good bit of time "restoring" and customizing. Obviously, it pales in comparison to what classic car enthusiasts have to deal with, but as E30s were my first and second cars, I could only take on so much.
My second E30 just got rear ended, so I'm looking for something new. I'm thinking of an older Japanese car, and am looking to learn more. At this point I know absolutely nothing.
Does anyone have any suggestions for other places I can look to do more research, or see more classifieds?
At this point, I saw a car that caught my eye, and I'd like to know more about it. The car was a 75 Celica GTS, and I found it stunning. Here's some questions: it's RWD, right? What sort of suspension setup does it have, in terms of geometry? How much does it weigh? What is the chassis code for the car, and what years was that particular body style made during? What motor came in it, and what output did it have? What common swaps are relatively simple to do? How prone is the car to rust, and at what points on the car? What maintanence issues should one look out for? Anything else is great too.
Lastly, please suggest some other cars I may be interested in.
Thanks guys! Hope to learn a lot here!
