The Selling & Buying Boards are an open market between the seller & buyer. TORC is not responsible, nor to be held liable for any transactions that may take place. Use common sense when taking part in any transaction.
A few RULES for ALL sellers:
1. Craigslist, eBay or other 'auction' sites: If you have something to sell, post it with a photo. Yes, it's a pain but we're not here to drive traffic to auctions. We're here to make sure older Toyotas stay on the road. So why not cut your fellow TORC member a deal? If no one bites, then throw it up on eBay. If you must, you can use the same photos and description as in your eBay auction or Craigslist ad, but you just can't link to the auction or ad itself. Bottom line - NO LINKING TO AUCTIONS! Selling posts with links to auctions will be deleted!
If you've come across an interesting car for sale that's already listed on Craigslist, eBay, YJA or any other auction site you can post it in the Auction sub-forum.
2. Post a price: Believe us, people who don't see a price aren't going to blindly throw you a fantasy offer. Seeing a price gets you buyers who are truly interested and helps filter out the lowballers, saving everyone time and energy. Win-win!
3. Post a location. We have readers from all over the world, so it helps for a potential buyer to see if shipping is feasible. Again, time and energy saved.
4. Post Pics. People are going to ask, so just do it from the get go.
5. For Sale postings will be DELETED after 1 YEAR. This is in an attempt to keep the For Sale section fresh. If you still have your car for sale after 6 months, please repost it.
An open message to Commercial Vendors:
You are welcome to advertise on the "Sell or Buy" thread of our Forum.
You may also respond to member postings on other Forum threads.
However we ask that you follow these guidelines:
1) Keep ads specifically directed to Toyota vehicles
2) Do not post ads everyday. Doing so will be considered an act of SPAM.
3) Constant and repetative posting of the same ad will be considered SPAM.
4) You may reply to members requests for parts and accesories.
We would recommend just one major posting that acts as a general ad for your company. Further ads are welcome if they are product specific and infrequent. Too many ads will result in termination of privileges.
Please comply with these guidelines, If you do not comply with these guidelines, TORC will issue you a warning. If failure to comply continues, TORC has the right to remove any and all of your posts and to remove and ban you from the Forum.
Please realize TORC is mostly about restoration and maintenance of stock vintage Toyotas over 20 years old.
Please realize that TORC is not responsible or liable for any transactions between private parties.
If you agree to these guidelines and principles, then you may go ahead and advertise.
