In 1988, Engine was professionally built, and now has 50k miles on it. Last drive was 50 highway miles in 1997. Following description dates from then:
down on compression. Oil squirted into the cylinders brought up the compression remarkably. Engine NEVER raced, never
street raced (I'm an older guy), or abused in any way.
No known mechanical problems aside from compression.
Since 1997, it sat on a creeper and a small tire on my concrete driveway with a tarp over it.
TRD parts date from about 1984 or so.
'80 3tc block, bored
TRD oil pump
TRD 10.5:1 pistons
TRD clutch disk and cover- bout 6k easy highway miles, not
slipped or run hard
TRD flywheel
TRD header
TRD big valves
TRD double valve springs
'78 2tc head that was flowed--completely reworked on a flow bench by a
racing shop (man, was that expensive!)
Mikuni intake manifold for dual sidedrafts (see below about carbs)
2tc distributor
Stock water pump, alternator
2 x 44 Mikuni sidedrafts, ran fine before they sat, throttle works, exterior corrosion
K&N 4" air filters
