for any one that is fixing up the lite stouts all the early hilux parts fit (all the running gear .motor ,gearbox , front end parts & diff centers. ) i know because i have done it . many thanks phil

That's great info Phil...... Many thanks. This is the exact reason why we need to try to attract as many Stout owners as possible to this forum, because there is some of us that have vast knowledge (like Phil) and some of us that have much to learn (like me). ;D I need front end bushes etc, so I'm pleased to hear I can go and buy early Hilux stuff because every time I go into an auto parts supply shop and ask for Toyota Stout stuff, I get a lot of head scratching from the fellow behind the counter

hi just to let everyone know you can also use the 18rc engine to replace the 5r engine . i also run the down draft webber carburetta on mine wich gives you the instant power when needed. my litestout is curently running a 12r engine. instead of the 2r /3r

i know that the 69 hilux(some of them) come with the 3r engine and i believe that the 67 corona also falls into the 3r category

i beg to differ the early hilux came out with a 2r or a 12r. i have pulled three early hilux utes apart in the last 6 months. i have also wrecked around 5 toyota stouts /litestouts over the last 7 years. can any one tell me how to go about putting pictures into the forum
