Hello everyone... though it would be the first posting here. My name is Oscar, i live in Los Angeles and have just purchased a 1967 Corona, currently the car is in OK condition, only 40k miles on it, original engine and tranny, original paint and interior (though much of the interior is gone), what i was wondering is where, if there is such a place, can i get parts for my car? I've searched some of my local junk yards but have come up empty handed. Oh yeah, the tranny doesn't have any strength whatsoever while in reverse, it feels as though something is not catching, the engine revs but the car just won't move in reverse. Thank you much for Reading this and I'll highly appreciate any input.

That is not going to be easy. You wont find all the parts you need in one spot. The best bet is to start with Cabe Toyota in Long Beach. They can help you with any factory parts that are still availble. For used parts, keep checking the pick-u-parts and the like as old Toyota's from time to time. Your transmission sounds like it needs a rebuild... Sorry!!

Regarding your transmission and no reverse.
Sounds like the same problem I had when I had my Corona. I think these cars were prone to the bands breaking. Inside the transmission are some brake band assemblies and these can break. If you can do the work yourself, open it up and look inside, otherwise I recomend finding a good mechanic that specializes in these old cars. A good transmission shop might have rebuilt bands in stock.

My friend and I went all the way to Rialto for corona parts, the ecology wrecking yards have a list of cars they have, and their location. I suggest calling them to check every now and then.

I specialize in parts for the 1965-70 Corona RT43/52. I should have most any part(s) needed to repair your A10 automatic. The reverse may not work because it was not adjusted and the band is loose because the anchor & strut have fallen out of position. However, if the band material is worn out and you have metal to metal contact, you have much bigger problems. I also may have one remanufactured A10 for the column shift models that came from Stuart Resor. I have a number of A10 cores for sale that should yield a lot of good hard parts. Best case for rebuilding the transmission is a master kit, bands and a few seals and a Toyota A10 manual. Contact me if want parts.

The corolla tranny won't fit. Try using a celica tranny. They use the same bellhousing. Well almost, the guide pins will have to be removed. Other than that, it will fit. Wait, you're running with a 3rc aren't you? In that case, I wouldn't be 100% on that. But we did swap an 18r into a 69 corona once.

I have a toyota corona four door with a 4AG engine, lightened flywheel, five speed transmission, over sized fuel injectors, custom headers, disc brakes up front and CDI ignition, aluminum wheels with pirelles, I am looking for an interested party to continue care.
