Hi all, I am preparing to sell my 65 Stout. I've done a lot of work to it in the time I've had it and most recently installed a new clutch assembly and new exhaust system from the collector to the muffler. As with any 42 year old vehicle, she is not without her faults. I am also somewhat interested in what market value might be (not that there is a market!) If anyone knows of anyone looking, let me know. Thanks, Bill

Hi,
We are in Napa, California. I have not yet decided on a price. That was one of the reasons for my post was to poll the group to see what might be available. My original plan was to list on Ebay to see what that might bear.
Thanks, Bill

Jeez...... ship it over to me in Australia. Nice looking truck right there. I have no idea what it's worth as these are very very rare in Australia...... real niche market too I guess....... my advice......... keep it !!!! ;D It seems you may have quite a collection of cars though, so sometimes you have to part with something. That interior looks so good. I want it. Good luck with the sale Bill. Sorry, I am of no help regarding worth of your truck........ if it was over here though, I'd be making an appointment to come and see it.

Thanks!
Yeah, it's time for it to go. I'm ready to move on to something else. In this case I just purchased a 59 Austin Gipsy. Just as rare, but it is british like my other projects. The body is not as nice as it looks in the photos. I suspect that I will try to sell it on Ebay and see what that brings. I might start with a higher reserve to see what the market will bring. I do have some money in it that I'd like to recoup if possible.
Regards, Bill

I always hate it when a 'unique' car gets sold, because we never know what will become of it. Will we ever see it again, or will it disappear never to be seen again? Hopefully that is not the case. I wish you good luck in selling your Stout, and hope that the next owner will join us here for discussion. Please pass along our website & forum info to the next owner! Pricing one of these trucks is always kind of iffy... a lot depends on the buyers that are shopping at the time of sale;... a lot depends on the seller & how realistic or unrealistic they want to be with their expectations. Take a look at the first Stout in the Stout (photo files). That car was fully restored and in almost perfect mint condition. When it sold 3 or 4 years ago, it sold for about $9,000.

Thanks for the reply Mike, I completely agree with you about selling of unique cars. unfortunately, one can only be a good steward for as long as one owns it (unless you want to have lots of cars!) I was thinking that I'd ask between $3500-4500 for my Stout which I think is a fair price. It will need to be repainted at some point to look really good. I am probably going to list it on Ebay to see what that brings. I think that is probably the best coverage for a sale. Regards, Bill

Bill,
Please let us know if & when you post it on eBay. I'm sure we'd all like to keep an eye on how it goes. ;D

All the best with this Bill. Great, honest listing on eBay and it looks like quite a bit of interest already. It's a shame to see you selling this beauty, but I know what it's like to have too many projects in the yard. I have sold many a rare classic in the past and I miss each and every one of them..... especially when I see the new owner cruising on a sunny Sunday afternoon with a big smile on their face. The Austin looks very cool though and I really couldn't blame you for choosing to put the time and money and yard space into it. As Mike has mentioned...... it would be great if you could pass the Forum details onto the next owner of the '65. It would be truly great to build a real Toyota Stout hub on this forum. Good luck with all.
