Does anybody know what speedometer cable models will work on a 1966 Stout? Specifically will a 1969 Hi-Lux Speedometer Cable (37-6560) work? Thanks Dan

Dan: As far as I know, the early speedometer cables had the same type ends (until the end at the speedometer became a clip-on instead of screw-in) in about 1972. The cables varied in length and details, but the main difference is the length.
So if the Hi-Lux cable is about the same length, it should work.
The RK41L Stout used the 83710-30030 & 83710-30040 which both changed to the 83710-39065.
I would like to know how long the stock speedometer cables are in the RK41L?
Th Hi-Lux used the following: RN11 04/69 to 11/69 83710-89802 1700mm with 3RC RN1# 12/69 to 04/72 83710-89801 1900mm with 8/18RC

Thanks for the information. The current cable is approximately 2 meters long. Dan

The speedometer cables for the Stout RK101LP (pickup, LHD, 6 seater, 5R) are: 83710-39065 used 6709-7209 2100mm (probably screw connectors both ends) 83710-39255 used 7209-on 2100mm (probably clip connector at speedometer, screw connector at transmission)
Standard Toyota date codes 6709=1967,month 09. I have neither and the parts are discontinued by Toyota.

I have had luck with an ebay dealer called soldonline-northbay. They are North of San Francisco in Petaluma. I have found may parts there. Unfortunately they often do not have the descriptions right and you have to ask specific questions about what they say they have. For instance the length of the cable and a picture of the ends. But they have a lot of vintage Toyota parts listed and I have found some pretty rare stuff, like break drums.
