So here is the scoop. My dad and I inhereted a 67 stout from m grandfather who had it for ages, new motor, ran good. after it sat at our house for awhile my dad "sold" it to a landscaper for work. He ended up having warrants and went to jail and the stout got impounded and sold at a police auction. I found it again while I was driving around town one day and I think I know where the new owner works. I was wanting to know what you guys that it is worth($US) because im thinking about buying it back (if he sells it) and want to throw an offer to the guy. Its kind of sentimental to me and Id love to get it back for a project. Heres a pic of the condition... not too good or one tho, taken with camera phone:

Value will depend on who you talk to.
Too many people that own these, think they are worth a small fortune and expect an outrageous amount for them, but in reality they are being greedy. My guess is one in decent condition, that is still running, MIGHT be worth a couple of thousand dollars (at most). I knew of one that had been restored to near mint condition that sold for over $9,000.
In your case it will depend on what the current owners plans are, and how much you think it is worth getting back.

I was wanting to know what you guys that it is worth($US) Hey c4k30rd34th, welcome to the TORC Forum. Firstly let me say that the hubcaps on that Stout are worth nothing, so the best thing you could do is pop them off and wrap them up all careful like and then post them to me. You won't be needing them. ;D ;D Seriously though........ the question you ask is a difficult one. The fact the truck is sentimental to you means that you are possibly willing to pay more than it is worth. To be honest in your situation it is easy to justify this because you will probably keep it a long long time, so you will never lose money on it. These trucks are only going to become more valuable especially as the minitruck scene start to become aware of them. I know a couple of guys very eager to get hold of mine as they want to put airbag suspension in it and have it sitting right down on the ground. That was my initial intention too until I worked out just how rare these trucks are. I agree with toyotageek. In the current US market from what I have seen turn up for sale on the net I would say that it might fetch $2,000. However if I were in your situation, ex family car and all, I would be willing to pay more to secure it for myself. Hope this helps some. Once you have it....... be sure to post up lotsa pics and info and keep us all updated on what you are doing with it. Ohhhhhhh........... also........ I want those hubcaps !!!!!! ;D

Yea those hub caps are staying if I get it back. Id probaby offer him $2500 or so for it. Lower it a little more, paint it, and do a motor swap... it has a 22r, but hell, its smog exempt! gotta take some advantage of that. May post my tundra up for sale, get an older tundra, then buy this... If he will sell it. Id love building one like this...

First thing that Oz Stout sees or thinks about in relation to stouts is if they have hubcaps ;D
I think $2500 is a very reasonable offer. It looks quite straight and is hopefully rust-free. If so then great! hope you get it!

First thing that Oz Stout sees or thinks about in relation to stouts is if they have hubcaps ;D Ehehehe......... well...... ummmm........ yeh you got me ;D I agree with stoutrust that $2500 is a very fair offer and I too hope you get it. I also like the idea of painting it and lowering it....... however I will say that I'm not too sure about black. The Stouts have some truly great style lines. Of course most prominent of these are the indicator bulges sitting up top of the front guards. In any dark colour these distinctive features tend to disappear into the overall silhouette of the vehicle. Just something to keep in mind I guess. At the end of the day, if you get it, then it's yours and you can do whatever makes you happy.

First thing that Oz Stout sees or thinks about in relation to stouts is if they have hubcaps ;D Actually, I'm not sure if those are original hub caps, they seem too big. A better photo would help resolve the issue Keep us posted as to what happens.
