Hello,
I am working on a project to build a VIN decoder for US vehicles prior to 1981. I'm getting close to supporting Toyota from 1968-1980 and would like to support the Stout.
I haven't been able to find a frame number chart online for the vehicle though I've been looking for about a month.
If someone has access to such a chart, I'd really like to get the starting frame numbers for January and for August of each year the Stout was available.
Thanks!

Let me check my files... I think I have something somewhere..... just need to find it. Awesome. I'll be posting in the main Pickup/Hilux forum with the same question through '78 very soon, in case you might have that, too. Thought I'd start older and work my way newer. ;D

Toyotageek has the frame charts from 1964-1975 for all the Toyotas made for the USA/Canada (more or less) incuding the Stout (about 4 pages for the Stout). If you want all the pages, I can go to my UPS store & run another copy ($6 includes postage) for you. These charts (about 50 pages) list the starting VIN or frame number for each month of production.
What I would like are the frame charts for the RT4#/RT5# series outside the USA. The frame charts for the RT43/52 are included in the above frame charts.
We plan to be in Long Beach on May 3rd for TORC. We plan to set up a table near Cabe Toyota to talk to people about the Coronas that we specialize in.
I specialize in parts for the 1965-70 Corona RT43/52, the 1969-72 Corona Mark II RT6#/7#, and the 1970-73 Corona RT8#/9#. 99% of my time is spent on the 1965-70 Corona. I am a retired Electrical Engineer & this is my full time hobby. Mr. Carlyn Dinkler 7310 Timber Ridge Dr Mint Hill, NC 28227 USA 704-545-5261 Fax 704-545-8671 cdinkler@bellsouth.net

Here is the all inclusive info for the Stout.
The following info comes from the TOYOTA PRODUCTION FRAME NUMBER REFERENCE MANUAL Reissued: May 1975
First Production Date Frame Number Chart - Stout RK41
(following the Toyota style, dates are by year then month - ex: 6410 is 1964 October)
6410 - 10007 6411 - 11028 6412 - 10278
6501 - 10850 6502 - 11161 6503 - 11460 6504 - 12021 6505 - 12490 6506 - 12842 6507 - 13301 6508 - 13585 6509 - 13697 6510 - 13752 6511 - 13907 6512 - 14179
6601 - 14220 6602 - 14369 6603 - 14506 6604 - 14700 6605 - 14862 6606 - 15216 6607 - 15614 6608 - 15825 6609 - 15973 6610 - 16274 6611 - 16448 6612 - 16695
6701 - 16855 6702 - 17158 6703 - 17444 6704 - 17773 6705 - 18108 6706 - 18490 6707 - 18787 6708 - 19081 6709 - 19256 6710 - 19261
Thanks to Carlyn for providing me with this reference material.
I also have Toyota US sales figures for the Stout, which I obtained from Toyota Motor Sales several years ago.
1964 - 4 1965 - 962 1966 - 1,425 1967 - 1,828
Hope this helps.
P.S. - Matt, I sent you a PM

This is awesome information Mike. Thank You to you and Carlyn. My 65 Stout is RK41-11626, I figure that it was about #250th to 300th one produced for the US. The annual runs agree perfectly with what the Toyota museum claims on the Stout info plaque they use. It said ~4200 Stouts were produced. So since the VINs are not exactly sequential, can we presume that the missing VINs are units that went to other countries?
Only bummer now is I wish I had a '64!

The Stout frame (VIN) numbers run from RK41-10007 in 10/64 to RK41-19261 in 10/67. They normally give the beginning production number for each month & then for the final month of production, also give the final number produced. For the Stout, the final production number was not given so you might guess that RK41-19261 was the only Stout built in 10/67, or not.
From the frame numbers RK41-10007 to RK41-19261, it appears that 9254 were produced. If 4219 were sold in the USA, then the other 5035 were not sold (damaged in transit, in Toyota meusems, etc.) in the USA, or sold in other countries.
There is a Stout just listed on eBay, RK41-11780, made 03/65, 260239137760.

I'm not following this all the way.It seems like 6411 frame number is higher than 6501. Is this correct(I'm not trying too second anyone, just trying to understand)? where would my frame number be RK41-11071?looks to be Jan. 65 either way. And does the body number do anything?

RK41-11071 would have been manufactured in January 1965 (6501) since the month started with serial number (you have to insert the 'RK41-' ) 10850 and February (6502) started with 11161.
6411 is the month code (1964, November--standard Toyota date codes used in parts books).
