I was wondering what do Stout restorers do to replace their worn out door and window seals?
Do they visit auto wrecking yard to get rubber off late model vehicles and try to adapt it to their Stouts? Or do they do something else?

I avoid driving in the rain. ;D
Seriously, I don't know if anyone really even knows what the strips are supposed to look like. I don't think there is a profile in the book. Perhaps Mike or someone @ Cabe could let us know what they use on the restoration pieces?

I got mine about 10 years ago from Cabe. Before that I measured the doors and wandered around a pick-n-pull until I found something about the right size. Those worked fin 'til I got the stock ones from Cabe.

I avoid driving in the rain. ;D Ahahahaha...... I also don't drive the Stout in the rain. Imagine if it got wet?!?!?! Haha.... my friends laugh at me saying it was built to be an outdoors tough work truck. Pfft... it is classic J-Tin and needs to be looked after. ;D

Here are a few part numbers: Weatherstrip, Windshield: 56121-95112 Weatherstrip, Door, RH: 67861-95110 Weatherstrip, Door, LH: 67862-95110
I aquired a new old stock LH door strip (sorry, not for sale), but I am missing the right. I know there are guys out there that can recreate a rubber based on a sample, so I am hoping to have this one duplicated and a RH version created. Not sure who does this, so if you guys have any leads, let me know and I can start the process of reproducing these. I know there is quite a few that can use a set. My windshield gasket is in near perfect shape, so I had planned on using that. Possibly those can be reproduced as well. If I get any pricing I ask in here about a group buy or something.

If you wouldn't mind not having it for about a week, I could put together a print/3D model and check it against profiles that I have with my sources for extrusion.
Biggest problem you will run into with extrusion on a custom level is the amount you have to buy. (minimum orders generally run in the 1000's of feet). There are ways around it however.

I am sending some samples off to see if there is a match. In the meantime, if you want, the approximated dimensions are 1.05 tall x .625 wide. The .PDF gives a decent profile in case you want to go to the pick a part. Click on it to activate and use the left mouse button to rotate. Attachments:
