*sigh*
The summer is gone and so are my vacations. For once I had some rest instead of doing all kinds of construction projects. However, it also means that this project hasn't had much progress. Still, something has happened. I took the paintwork off the driver door and... it looks terrible! The door plate is like hit with a hammer around thousand times. The plate is full of small craters and naturally the door skirt has some rust holes. Still, I think those doors can be fixed - and actually they have to be fixed since there are no doors available here in Finland. (If you do know a set of mint doors in your country, please get back to me and let's think of how we could get them here)
A few years ago there was a guy who contacted me and wanted to sell me a set of 4 new doors. They were imported from Japan a number of years ago and they were untouched since that. Well, it took 3-4 years, the seller never had time to meet me or there were some other excuses. Last year I again remembered those doors. When I contacted the seller, he wanted to come and see my car. He visited my garage and left. Next week when I called him and said that I will now come ang buy those doors, he no longer wanted to sell them. He said that when he saw my vehicle, he wanted to build one too and use his new doors for that Corona. You can imagine how angry I was...
So, now I've been trying to find better doors with no luck. I'll post some pictures as soon as I have some time. Lately it's been too busy doing 2 jobs to get the money for a new paintwork.

Cman
If you could e mailme pictures of your car including some of the parts you are looking for maybe I can help. I live in Phoenix Arizona and I do go to junk yards here and do see a lot of early Toyota's believe it or not last week I saw a 1976 Celica liftback all there and no one was taking parts off of it. If there is a need for certain model for me to start removing those parts I will do what I can to help.

Sounds great, thanks! There are lots of pictures on my website. I'll try to take some photos about the doors, but they can be seen in some of the newest galleries. One of the biggest problems is, that delivery costs from the U.S. are really high. I'll try to find a solution for that.

You are doing a great restoration on this Corona I am enjoying all of the pictures on your website. I do see Coronas here in Phoenix Arizona in junk yards like the one you are restoring. I will keep my eyes open for any parts you may need for yours. Can you give me the month and year production of your Corona ( On driver side pillar post )
Thanks Frenchy ( Frenchysrides.com )

Thanks in advance, a couple of experts told me that these doors can be fixed, but it's going to be a huge job. It would be better to find "new" doors to start with.

Uh, I forgot I have another topic here. It's been a while and nothing has happened - until now. Slow progress again. Attachments:
