Hello. I am new to this site and any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. recently purchased an all original 1977 celica gt liftback, R20 engine I believe, with automatic transmission. Car has been parked since 1993 now shows 83,000 mile on odometer which seller says is actual. Title from seller (2nd owner) shows 1978 title with 10,825 miles on it so I'm going to assume miles are accurate. Car was parked in 1993 after his daughter slid into a ditch and bent the passenger front rim and control arm or tie rod? car is remarkable condition with minor rust here and there but appears to be complete down to the center caps on the rims. He said car ran fine till parked and has not been started since. So probably old gas, and all other fluids...etc... Vehicle rolls and brakes have enough pressure to stop. ANY advice on how to to begin would be appreciated. Also can any one tell me or send what the original specs on this car are such as horsepower, mpg...etc..? Thanks......JIM

Jim, Welcome to the TORC forums! I've got a '77 Celica LB myself, and I have a bunch of spec sheets and articles stashed away somewhere - give me some time to find them all & I'll try to dig up the info for you.

I'm still trying to find most of my files for the Celica, but in the meantime, here is some info that accompanied the October 2005 Hemmings Sports & Exotic Car article on my car:
ENGINE Compression Ratio - 8.4:1 Horsepower @ rpm - 96 @4,800 (US spec) Torque @ rpm - 120-lbs. ft. @ 2,800
PERFORMANCE 0-60 mph - 9.6 seconds Standing 1/4 mile - 17.6 seconds @ 77 mph Top Speed - 102 mph
As soon as I find more data, I'll post it up here.

Hi there,
I'm new to the site as well. I was wondering if anyone has information on the factory offered exterior/interior color combinations available in 1977. I have recently aquired a black on black liftback but I was sure the black exterior was only available with a white interior. Any help here would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob

For MOUSER991 - I found my old magazine reprints and will get the info up soon. I'll also scan the pages and provide some links for them ;D Hi there, I'm new to the site as well. I have recently aquired a black on black liftback but I was sure the black exterior was only available with a white interior. Any help here would be appreciated. Thanks, Bob Bob, I checked my 1977 Celica brochure but it doesn't list the color combos. It only lists the exterior colors - white
- red
- biege
- 0range
- pure yellow
- black (only on GT and GT liftback)
[/b][/size] [/li][li]silver metallic [/li][li]orange metallic [/li][li]light green metallic [/li][li]maroon metallic [/li][li]light blue metallic [/li][/ul] The only interior colors I was aware of were black and brown. My friend bought his 77 GT liftback brand new back in 77, maybe he might recall some of the color combos...

Thanks for the info. I bought a 77 gt new (silver with black) but I can't remember the other availability. I know there was a white interior offered but I'm not sure of the exterior colors it went with.
