My grandpa & grandma were the first toyota dealer in the USA. They started out in San Diego calif. His name was John A Rose. He passed away a few years ago. I still have a 1965 toyota stout p/u. It's not stock any more. It has a 383 chevy motor & a turbo 350 trans. The ford 9" rear end out of a cougar bolted right up. I was wondering if it was the oldest truck in the us??? He started in 1957 with toyo pets. He was also a subaru dealer & sunbeam Tiger dealer also. My name is Shawn. I was thinking of selling the truck to a good home. It's not all put together, but ALL the parts are there.

Hello Shawn! Welcome to the TORC forums!
Wow, that's pretty cool that your grandparents are the ones that started Rose Toyota! Do you have any old photos from the dealership back in the 60's & 70's? I hope you'll be able to share some of your families Toyota history with us.
Good luck in finding a new home for the Stout.

Hey Shawn, I purchased a 1937 Buick Limousine from a guy out in San Deigo and it came with paper work showing that he purchased this Limo from the Rose Family Trust and the Limo used to belong to your Grandfather. I am trying to get some history on this Limo while your Grandfather owned it. Like what he used it for, how often and maybe who owned it before him. How about a picture of him in the Limo? Any thing you can share with me would be appriciated. I can be reached at USMCsgt7@aol.com. Thanks, Ben
