I have a 1992 Toyota long bed pickup with helper springs on the rear leaf system. The truck has 300,000 miles on it and is used as a daily driver & occasional work vehicle for hauling rock, lumber, etc. The stiffening of the rear suspension has thrashed the front shocks, and also lifted the rear a bit making the truck low in the front. I am wanting to raise and stiffen the front....also would be happy if the whole vehicle's side to side sway could be reduced without throwing a lot of money at it. Is there a coil-over shock that would work to accomplish my goals? Anyone have any suggestions?
This is a very strong running stock 22R fuel injected vehicle which i intend to keep for at least another 100,000 miles. It seldom goes off road, but I've found that the knobby mud&snow tires allow it to go most anywhere as long as there's a load in the bed. I've been told air lockers on the rear end would give me the closest thing to posi-traction and make a huge difference. Anyone got advice in this direction?
Thank you for your time,
Marty

Stock 3rd gen pickups used a torsion bar with shock front suspension not coilovers so finding a coil over to work isn't going to happen for cheap and with out some fab work. But there is a ton of stuff that you can get for these trucks. Look for a new set of torsion bars that are a little stiffer then stock and a new set of shocks. If you have no idea on were to start you can call Downey Off road to start with since they have and sell a lot of products for toyota's www.downeyoff-road.com/index.html
