Here is the color and spec chart for the US-Spec Corona from 1965-1969. If you see an error please post it here and I will correct the page and graphic ASAP. You can upload a photo of your car to the site by clicking on the above graphic, then clicking on the appropriate camera icon next to your color. I will make updates on the chart within a day of any errors or additions posted. To confirm or add your color to the chart just post a photo or description of your car along with the model year (or production date) and the color code. The three-character color code can be found on the production information affixed to the car. It is usually on a metal plate attached to the firewall near the back of the engine compartment.

OK, I know its a tad screwy... the regular Corona and the MKII were pretty much two different vehicles, but for now I am going to combine them in one topic. I do want to see if anyone can verify that the MKII was available in the US only as a sedan and had a 1.9L in 67-70 and a 2.0L in 71 -- then that body generation was ended.

Toyota date codes are 6501 = 1965/January For the USA/Canadian market: The RT43 sedan was made 6501-7001 The RT52 was made 6704-7001. To about 6705 the 3RB was used (no air pump). 6705 on the 3RC (with air pump) was used. ID plates were added to the rear of the driver's door jam sometime in 1969 with the manufactured date and factory. The color code was on a sticker in the engine compartment that normally was painted over, removed, etc.
The Corona Mark II was made 6902-7112. Other markets had models starting 6809. There were the RT62 sedan, the RT72 coupe, and RT78 wagon with the 8RC engine 6902-7108, and then with some upgrades became the RT63 sedan, the RT73 coupe, and RT79 wagon with the 18RC engine 7109-7112 which was the end of this series as far as I know. The Corona Mark II MX models replaced the RT models.
For paint colors of the Corona & Corona Mark II, I have paint color chips that I loan to regular customers.

Carlyn,
Thanks much for the information! The frustrating thing is that I had spent nearly all day today comparing my various references to get things straightened out a little better. While doing some searches I came across this thread... and saw your reply. I thought that I would get an email if someone replied, but apparently not! Had I checked here first I would have saved a bundle of time!
I think I have the information on the Corona straight now, and have split the Corona MKII off to its own area. Silly Toyota, naming that larger car the Corona! Oh well.

I have never seem black listed in Toyota literature or in color chips provided by the paint suppliers to show that it was an 'official' color for the 1965-70 Corona; however, some vehicles could have been produced as specials by Toyota. To determine if the paint was factory, you would have to examine areas of the car that would not normally be repainted even in a very good restoration to determine if black was the original factory color.
Added November 18th. We went out eight days on the road to pick up new parts, and to junk RT43-47398 made 03/67 for parts. This RT43 was manufactured as a black car at the factory which was obvious as we took the car down to the shell and cut it into six pieces for scrap metal. The factory color code, 26, was still on the tag, and I found the code 26 for black listed in a service bulletin for colors used on various Toyota's.

OK, I have updated the chart to show the black car that I discovered and the black (26) that you found. Where exactly did you find the color code on the Corona you parted? That will help me research other Coronas. Since I don't know for sure if the black in 1969 was the same black as your the 67 I have listed them as two different lines on the chart.
Also, I know that the light blue was fairly common on the RT43. Does anyone know the color code?

On the RT43/52 series that I have seen, there is (or was originally) a white tag with the color code located in front of the driver under the hood on an area of flat sheet metal above the master cylinders.
The light blue is probably Horizontal Blue #1208. Zenith blue #1335 was a darker blue. There was also an Orbit Blue #1386 that was even darker. Carlyn Dinkler cdinkler@bellsouth.net

I have some notes on the Corona I owned and sold a few years ago. It was light blue, but that was a re-paint. The original color was a funky metallic tan/light brown/sand color. I was only able to get a partial color code off the tag under the hood - ##23 (it might have been 1123). Production date was 66-01 (RT43 18306)

A Ditzler color chart for 1967 Toyotas shows a color 1123 'Colosseum' beige poly, and a NAPA color chart shows 1123 as Coliseum beige poly and lists it as being used 1966-68. A service bulletin dated 01-25-68 that list the colors used on the 4-door Coronas does not include 1123. Carlyn Dinkler

One of my 67's has a 3RC, the other 67, came from CA and has a 3RB. There are two different Blues. One is the light blue(code 1208 ), and the other is a darker blue. I do not have the color code on this one. These are the original colors on both my Coronas. Hope this info helps.

I used to have a 1966 Corona. Unfortunately I had to sell it. If you want to try & get your color code, open up the hood & look in the engine compartment. If your car is original, and still in half way decent conditon, look for a label on the firewall. Here is a picture of the one that was in my car: As you can see, part of the number was missing, but you can still read the 23. That is part of the color code (paint code). Carlyn Dinkler id'd it as 1123, Coliseum Beige. Here is another little tip. My car was listed as a 1967. But it had this funny little tag ont the engine ID plate. Take a look: That circular tag had the number 66 on it, indicating my car was built in 1966. Carlyn Dinkler was again able to do things a bit better, and was able to provide the production date by my VIN. I need to check my files, but I think the production date was Jan 1966... I'll confirm and update asap. BTW - here is a picture of the car. I do miss it. But, that's life!

Color Code
I found the color code for my 68 Corona. I found it inside the service booklet that came with the car. (Yes, I still have all the original paperwork for the car) The color is listed as Sirius White 1391. RT 52 production date: 05 68

OK, I added the new color codes to the chart. You guys have been very helpful, keep it up!
Also, if anyone has an old Corona brochure please let me know. I would like to get them scanned and archived on the site.

This topic came to my mind when I saw the following picture: ClickNotice the different paint type used in Euro spec vehicle. Is it because of the cold air here, I don't know. Also see that the paint code is missing the prefix "T" you have in the U.S.

What car (year & model) is that 431 color code from? Not 100% sure, but RT40 1966 or 67, that's what I've been told.
