I have a 2 door with rust-free body that I would like to get more power/performance with possible engine swap. Does anyone have any experience or info on best potential candidates for putting in more powerful engine: ie later model toyota engine, 6cylc, V6 etc Any input would be greatly appreciated. I have money set aside for this project. Also is anyone experienced with suspension upgrades? Thanks

Also is anyone experienced with suspension upgrades? Depending on the money and time you want to spend with this project, the most reasonable choice would be ripping the old suspension out of the car and taking the whole link system, control arms, steering, brakes and everything from some "more sporty" vehicle. I don't know about the regulations in your country so I cannot tell if that's legal. If less is enough, maybe Carlyn has some choices of the "more sporty" models of Corona? I don't think any of the engines you suggested will fit without big modifications, so basically it's the same if i propose a 4A-GE engine (even GZE or GTE). It's easy, lightweight and has a lot of potential if you want even more power.

Thanks, I appreciate the help. Someone said that the 20r engine fits right in with no modifications to motormounts???
Do you know if any company that makes a complete front end upgrade for these cars? Like a Fat man front end for muscles cars?
Thanks again

I have a 69 Corona with an 18RG in it. It is not easy to install but I am old school and like the look / fit. Brakes can be upgraded to disc bu using 71-73 spindles and have hoses made.
