It's only original once. I have owned this Celica since 1986. Among a rare production run (4,266) it is today even more a unicorn: original decals, trunk luggage rack and three-piece hard tonneau cover (parade boot). This rust-free car is as it came from the dealer and it was dealer-serviced for 25 years. I have all service and repair records from 1986. It has 136,300 miles (and counting). It has been garage kept at home and at the office, but this is no trailer queen. This car has been driven; it shows age typical of a 35-year-old (build date August 1984) exposed to Florida sun (and fun!). It was my daily driver for 20 years and was regularly driven when it became my second car. Although I will miss it, age and health issues mean it's time to pass this rare original on to a good home, hopefully someone who appreciates its original condition. What doesn't work: 1) The sound system. It's original; most owners replaced theirs. I wanted to keep mine original. 2) The trunk hinges. A known weak spot; I've replaced them twice. What's been done: 1) Paint on trunk and hood, faded by Florida sun and/or my Mighty Waxing Arm 2) New top and top motor, about 15 years ago; replacement is same fabric and spec, and same glass rear window with heater element. 3) Tires: I use 235's instead of the original 225's because they give the car a beefier look with the flared wheel well arches, but the difference is not enough to affect steering or suspension.
The car comes with numerous spare parts. Asking price is $10,000. It is located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I plan to put it on other sites (with many more photos) but thought I'd place it here first because I want it to go to someone who appreciates it and hopefully will give it more years of original life. Hollah with questions or requests for full photos. Thanks. Jeremy
