Hello there. I'm a newbie. Recently purchased a '69 Corona 2dr., 4spd- an RT52 I believe, with a 3RC engine. It had been sitting for 5 years. So I'm going through it getting everything flushed out and greased up. I'm having a bear of time getting the right points. Tried 2 really good independent foreign parts places as well as a Toyota dealer and I keep getting the wrong set of points. The old points were one piece and had a pivot point that set into a detent on the distributor base. The sets I keep getting are two-piece points which are a hair too big, the holes for the hold down/adjustment screws are too wide.
Any thoughts on this?
Thanks, Lou Weinert

--The Toyota & some aftermarket points are two piece as used on the original distributor breaker plate which has a post for the pivot. Some aftermarket points are made as one piece points with a hole at the pivot to fit on the post. 04191-40010 KIT, DISTRIBUTOR (POINTS) NEW TOYOTA 9.16 stock Aftermarket 5.50 stock
The 04191-40010 points were used on 3RB/3RC including: 196 -65 Crown RS30/40/31/41 w/3RB 1964-67 Stout RK41 1965-70 Corona RT4#/5# 1969-71 Corona Mark II RT6#/7# w/8RC (most) 1969-71 Corona RT8#/9 w/8RC (most) And others
--On some re-manufactured distributors, the breaker plate does not have a post. These have a small hole in the breaker plate at the pivot point that a small 'tit' on the bottom of the points fits into. 19145-41010/20/26060 KIT, DISTRIBUTOR (POINTS) NEW TOYOTA 9.16 stock Aftermarket 5.50 stock
