Howdy gang. I recently found this forum on Google. I recently bought a '72 Corona Mark II Wagon. It's not to pretty right now but it's got 48000 original miles and runs solid. Looking forward to perusing the forums and also asking for advice. I don't plan on doing much to cosmetically for the next few years but I'd like to get it in tip top mechanical shape. It's a solid running car, but still needs some TLC. Thanks!

I believe I saw your wagon on craigslist in the Sacramento area last summer. What needs fixin on your car? I have a similar Corona wagon - it's a '73 with only 43,000 miles. I live in the Placerville area.

Heya, sorry for the delay, just noticing your comment :-). I'm not sure it was the same car you saw, as this car was bought from a local dealer in '72 (still has the license plate frame from the dealer and they are still in business) and all of the maint records I have through the years are for local shops. It's a good little car but not really up for a 3 hour road trip :-). The only other car I've seen here in Fresno that comes close to mine is a 68 or 69 Corona Sedan I saw one day barreling down the road leaving a blue smoke trail.
Since I first posted, I've had the carb totally rebuilt by my local mechanic. He did a decent job, but it still needs some adjustment and I'm not 100% confident he's up to it. I may take it to a specialty shop here in town when I have the time.
Brakes were done by the previous owner himself right before i bought it. They have a weird lurching thing going on when i brake hard, and all the brake lines are not leaking but are surely due to be replaced, especially the lines connected to the master cylinder.
I also have a funky fuel smell that permeates the car for a few days every time I fill up. I raplaced the gas cap but that really didnt change anything. I figure i have a leak somwhere, perhaps where the fuel spout meet meets the tank, but havent been able to inspect it as well as i want. Fuel gauge also peggs to full 100% of the time, and I think there is a short in the wiring somewhere.
I also need to change the heater blower motor on the the heater core. I've got all the parts, just need the time to pull out the whole blower assembly and get it cleaned up from all the corrosion. Any pointers on getting the blower assembly pulled?
Hope to have time this summer to work on it a bit, since I'll be working 7-3:30 all summer long, i'll have a bit more daylight at the end of my day :-).
Other than that, she is a great little car, and is my daily driver. Not looking forward to summer driving when is 100+ (No AC)

I should have most parts to keep your RT79 repaired & running as long as you want including all brake parts (including new brake lines), front end parts, rear end parts, A30 automatic transmissions & parts, carburetors & parts, 18RC engines & parts, etc.
We will be at TORC on May 4th.
