Greetings Folks, I have an early model 1969 Ke10 (same as 1968) with 730,000 miles on it now, still being a daily driver. I really need to find another steering box or a way to rebuild the one I have...I cannot find new parts for it anywhere and have a lot of slack in the steering now. Does anyone know if there is another year model that may bolt in, or some sort of work around...I have managed to get a sort of shim into the top portion where the shaft goes through the box (there seems to be two bushings, upper and lower, inside the box, I'm trying with no luck so far to get a shim into the lower portion. All the other parts are new but you can feel the steering shaft go side to side with your hand while wiggling the wheels, and the sector roller is probably too worn to make good contact with the worm gear. I would love to keep driving it to a million miles but it's getting scary. Perhaps someone has an old steering box laying around with maybe only a couple of hundred thousand miles on it?
