Hey, My 1972 toyota crown is having electrical problems. At night the headlights are very dim the gauges in the car are also very dim. And the radio cuts off as soon as u turn on the lights. What is the problem. The alternator? or the Voltage regulator

Use a voltmeter to check the output of the alternator at the battery terminals. You should have 14 to 14.5 volts no load to load (like head lamps on). The battery should be about 12.5 volts when the car is not running. If you are not getting the 14 to 14.5 volts steady, have the alternator & regulator checked & repaired. I suggest that you replace both if necessary.
Also pull each fuse, inspect for corrosion and test with an ohm meter to see that the resistance is near zero. Old fuses do go bad.
