Yes, sad but true. Right now it's not looking like I'm not going to be able to finish my Stout project. For those that have not seen the other thread where I have been posting progress pictures, see here: toyotacluborg.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=stout&action=display&thread=1087
I am sure this happens all the time - guy gets overly ambitious, starts restoration, runs out of time and money before it's complete. Well this is exactly that. So my over ambition can be your gain. Here's a pic of basically where it stands:

The truck is mostly disassembled, but all the parts are there. This was a running truck prior to disassembly, and I had bought a lot of parts from a second truck so there are duplicates as well. Here's a recap on what I've done:
There are a lot of details left out here, but basically the mission was to make a museum quality Stout.
I have all of the receipts, which last I totaled was well over $5K, not to mention the hundreds of hours already into it. I'm not delusional to think I am going to make a profit or even recover costs. I am willing to take a loss. This is going to be a 'bring a trailer' type of thing.
The truck is El Cajon, CA (San Diego area).
So if you are in search of a project, this is something you can get into that has been started off right. I don't have a specific price in mind, and I'll entertain all offers.

The truck is mostly disassembled, but all the parts are there. This was a running truck prior to disassembly, and I had bought a lot of parts from a second truck so there are duplicates as well. Here's a recap on what I've done:
- Complete teardown
- Media blast and powdercoat frame and chassis parts
- Front end completely assembled. New tie-rod ends, ball joints, control arm bushings.
- All brake plumbing rebuilt from scratch with stainless lines, faux yellow chromate to look original. All fittings and joints were media blasted and zinced.
- All hardware used was either brand new or media blasted and re-zinc (yellow chromate). Also this is correct JIS standard hardware that Toyota uses, not European DIN style metric hardware. It was difficult to find, so I bought enough to complete the truck, and this will be included.
- Rear end completely rebuilt. The 'third member' gear set was changed to a 90's style to support new gears and pinions, and is now a very drivable 3.73:1 ratio. They say it should cruise at 65 comfortably.
- The drums were all turned, and I had the shoes rebuilt, bonded with new material, not rivited on like most shops will do.
- Brake kits are all honed and rebuilt, missing one from the rear though.
- The aluminum engine parts (manifold, timing cover, oil filter bracket, valve cover) are all restored and have a matte clear finish.
- Body parts are pretty much untouched. I have two nose cones, three fenders, two hoods, and two core supports. I'm not sure if I have three or four doors. The bed is in OK shape. The tailgate is bowed out, but is functional. I have an original front bumper, two original hubcaps, boxes and boxes of new original parts. Overall the body is in good shape with not much rust-through. The cab was completely media blasted but never painted so it now has surface rust.
- Engine and tranny are untouched (working).
- Have all glass, original windshield has small star break, maybe fill-able.
- Complete parts book (reproduction)
- I have CA cleared and restored black and gold plates and 1965 stickers. The truck has a clean title and is current with CA DMV as a non-op.
- This is an early '65, and according to the production numbers this should be about the 250th truck to come into the country.
