Having a difficult time determining the year of my Corona. From internet pictures, I have gathered it is somewhere between '64 & '69. Would greatly appreciate it if someone could help me figure it out through the 10 digit VIN. Thanks.

Just realized I probably should have put this under body instead of engine. Sorry.

Please give your VIN number. Look above the windshield washer bottle stamped in the firewall. Also give your engine serial number. Look on the flat in front of the hole in the block that the distributor mounts into.

RT52049640. I'll have to get back on later with an engine serial. Thanks.
Ok, engine serial: 3R915124. Thanks.

RT52-49640 was made 03/69. The engine 3R-915124 looks correct (original) for that time period.
The condenser that you removed was probably the noise suppression condenser for the radio. Removing that would not cause your problem. Some detailed pictures of the coil might help spot the problem.

Thank you so much. I'll get a picture later, if I can get my camera to work...it is dying.
Radio noise suppressor was the best guess from my local Napa guy as well. But he did not have a picture or a part number. I mounted my new condenser where that suppressor used to be. Not sure what I was thinking, but I did it nonetheless. Do you think it is possible that I killed the new condenser by connecting it to the hot side of the coil, instead of down on the points lead wire where it belongs?
