I accidentally discarded a small piece of the single points ignition sytem on my mid-late 60's Corona. No spark is the result. My problem is this.....I don't know what the piece is called, so I can get a replacement. It is not the condenser, but looks rather similar, except the box at the end of the lead is square instead of round. It was mounted on the coil mounting bracket and the wire went to the + side of the coil.
Any help in identifying this little piec is greatly appreciated. Would like to get this little bugger running in the next few days.
Thanks in advance.

If mounted on the coil bracket, it was probably the external resistor that reduces the voltage to the coil for normal operation. (There can be an associated relay that bypasses the resistor to put full voltage on the coil for starting.)

There is a ceramic resistor mounted right on the coil...very similar to that on an old Mopar The little piece I lost was about the size of the points condenser, and was mounted on one of the bolts that holds the coil bracket. So would this piece be the resistor bypass relay? And would it's absence possibly explain my lack of spark? Thanks.
