My 1977 Liftback needs a new sending unit in the gas tank. Unfortunately, this part is not available anymore. Does anyone know where I could find one or know if I could swap/morph one out of a later Celica or Toyota car?

I had to buy an aftermarket one for my corona, just check the resistance values, and see if any maker has the same values. I had bought my sender with the gauge, so I didn't have to worry about the original gauge.

Does anyone know what the stock resistance should be for a 1977 Celica sending unit? I've seen a similar unit on a FJ40/45 and I've been told that the resistance for those run around:
2.1 ohms - Full 4.5 ohms - Half 6.5 ohms - Empty
The unit looks similar the the Celica one. Wondering if I could make one of those fit. I've found a shop that sells aftermarket FJ40/45 ones.

The body manuals for the 1971-75 Celicas 00400-98062 & 00400-00504 show: full=3 ohms, mid=33 ohms and empty=110 ohms. I did not find the body manual for the RA29, 00400-98140, but I found a 1979 Celica Toyota manual that shows the resistance values to be the same as those for the 1971-75.
