Hi to all, I'm new to the site. I'm from Hawaii, Big Island. Married, got 4 children. Right now we are in the process of renovating a 1979 Corolla 2 door. Just one of my husband's major projects right now. It was auto but he converted it to manual. Has pretty much everything for the restore, doing bodywork at the moment cause there was some rust & holes from it sitting in the yard. Other things in the works will be installing custom pistons, etc. I get to do the headliner in a black diamond pattern material. Glad to find this site!

Hello & welcome to the TORC forums! Sounds like you guys have a nice 'family' project! ;D Always good to hear when a married couple can have a common automotive interest! Looking forward to your participation and maybe seeing some pictures of your project...

I'm a new member with ties to HI (Kaneohe) and want to do the reverse of what you did. I built a car for our daughter and want to switch from a 5-speed to an automatic, so she can drive the car. My engine and trans are from a '76 Corolla. Do you still have your old trans, torque converter and flywheel? And if so, would you like to sell them? I will be on Oahu 3/5 till 3/9. "Sunbeamguy"
