Ever since I first got the Toyota bug, one of my favorite cars has been the Toyopet Crown. I've always hoped of one day owning one of these cars, and I've come close once or twice, but so far the car has still eluded me. Just as the real car has been hard to get ahold of, so has information on the car. During all this time that I've been involved with Toyota clubs and websites, there hasn't been anything online for just the Toyopet Crown.
Well, I finally decided to do something about that. For a long time (years actually), I've thought about starting up a Group or Forum for Toyopet Crown owners and enthusiasts. Then over the past few months, I really started thinking about it, that something needed to be done - in May I saw Frenchy's Crown at the Toyotafest, and there were two Crowns that recently popped up on this group. All those Crown sightings got me thinking even more. Finally, about two weeks ago when I learned about the 1958 Toyopet that was going to be listed on eBay (and just sold for $22,322), I decided to do something.
I created a new Group called ToyopetCrown . The Group is similar to my other Group (Classic Toyota Town), and it is meant for owners and enthusiasts of the Toyopet Crown series of cars built between 1955 and approximately 1962 (I still haven't confirmed the final production date for the series). The Group will be a place for owners (and enthusiasts) to exchange information and repair or restoration tips, ask for parts requests, talk about collectables, share pictures and stories... well just about anything to do with the Toyopet Crown actually. I have also created a Registry that I hope owners will participate in. With all this in mind, I hope we can build a community that will include Toyopet Crown people from around the world.
So, if you own a Toyopet Crown, or if you're just an enthusiast, or a collector of Toyopet Crown memorabilia, then please stop by and join the Group.
Regards,
