Are the Minichamps cars the same as Ebbro? I saw a few on eBay and they kinda look the same. The cars look a little less detailed though. Does anyone know?

That'a a definite.... NO! 
Minichamps and Ebbro are two very seperate companies. Minichamps is a European based company and Ebbro is based in Japan. Minichamps does have some kind of marketing / distribution relation with Kyosho (another Japanese manufacturer). Hope that helps. BTW, what cars in particular did you see that made you ask this (you see, there isn't really much crossover in what they produce; the only thing I can think of is a 70's Celica).
