I have a "90" mkiii, my pride and "Toy" Im looking for ways to restore the rear plastic interior panels in the rear hatch. We know how it is when we put things in the hatch area, it always gets scuffs, scrapes, scratches, I need a way to restore them. My plans are to get a plastic deburing tool to smooth down the raised scrapes or "lightly" wet sand down the scrapes with very very fine sand paper. I'll probably do a combination of both. I sprayed water on the panel after I sanded it down, just to see if the color would be even, and it was. The water was just to give an idea of what it would look like if I cleared it. Now I don't know if I should just clear it or just repaint the panels. I don't want that glossy look either, I want it to look factory. I know they put Cosmoline when it comes from the factory, gives it that "egg shell" look. What do you gals/guys do to restore plastic panels? Thanks!!
