Getting started cleaning the fuel system and fuel tank on the '66 Crown RS41. The flexible fuel lines (hoses) at each end of the metal fuel line have me somewhat baffled.
The material seems to have been originally a clear plastic tubing (now discolored). See picture posted below showing the flexible line attached to the fuel filter inlet; the other end of the flexible line slipped over the metal fuel line coming from the fuel tank. (The flexible lines connected to the fuel tank vent system are the same material, but are still clear probably due to no fuel actually running through them.) Question - what is a suitable replacement for this flexible line that can be used with the original fittings, and where is it sourced from?
The flexible line/tubing is attached to the fitting using what appears to be some sort of compression ferule-type arrangement. The fitting unscrews easily from the fuel filter, but I am not sure how to disassemble the fitting to remove tubing from the fitting. Any guidance on how to do this? I don't want to damage the fitting trying to get it apart.
Thanks for any help you can provide. Paul
