How cool. I recommend you guys check this out. A few years back I got into the RC drift scene with a 1/10 HPI electric drift car. So much fun and it was funny how it was more big kids than younger guys that were doing it...... trying to relive our childhood from parents that couldn't afford to buy us cool radio controlled cars Anyway it is very addictive and can become very costly once you learn more about what works good and suits your style etc etc. I haven't run my car for a while now because I got too busy with work but a local indoor R/C track started actual drift races. Great fun.

That is true. Actually in those years there are more and more big guys getting into the RC world just like playing with real toys. I was really surprised when I learned there were rims, tires and all that parts to chose from just like real cars.
At the Tfest, RACE is ON!! and also fun run is ON! Drift guys will be enjoying there too. Lots of AE86 RC with lights on, it's so cool.

yes there are very many parts to choose from.
I used to buy a lot of my stuff from Tower Hobbies over in USA where you guys are and have them sent to me here in Australia.
There are very many rims to choose from, deep dish being very popular and also you can buy exhaust tips and mirrors and much more to make your car look authentic. I also ran lights on my car and had them so I could either have headlights and brakelights constantly on or I could run with all the indicator lights flashing like hazard lights as you often see in the 1:1 drifting. It's easy to do this with the little LED lights as you can buy a little flasher to incorporate.
There are heaps and heaps of different bodies you can use for your cars too. You buy them as a clear plastic shell and custom paint them yourself. A lot of guys use the usual Dori sort of cars like the AE86's and Nissan 180's etc. I ran an S15 body mainly, but I liked to mix it up a bit and also had an Audi A4 and a Honda Odyssey, A Porsche GT3, a 300zx and a '63 Impala for a bit of fun.
Sadly I got rid of a lot of that stuff but I still have the car and a couple of the bodies.
