Well since there haven't been any new Stouts for sale to post about, I figured I would give an update to the project. Front end is mostly together. Need to get wheel bearings and I can put the hubs, brakes and drums on. Progress has been painfully slow because I'm usually short some fasteners, and need to blast and zinc them myself. I'm might just break down soon and send out a lot to the pros just to stay ahead of myself on the hardware. I may not have mentioned this before, but I'm making most of my own gaskets on my laser cutter. I got a couple different rolls of Felpro from Napa. It's nice because I can create a higher quality gasket than stock by using exotic materials like neoprene impregnated paper. If I have most of the pieces from an original, I'll scan it in, and trace it in CorelDraw, and cut from there. In the following pix, I did the rear end third member gasket. I'm keeping all the files as I create them. Maybe if there is a market of more than one person I'll be able to run some sets when done. ;D

Not exactly sure what it was out of, but yes, it's a 90s era 8". New ring and pinion, bearings, used spider gears. Ended up going with a 3.73. Only thing they had to do was drill the flange to accept my driveline since the holes did not line up perfect. Don't ask how much I spent on that. It hurts to look at the receipt.

A major milestone has been reached - I now have a roller! Progress has been slow for the last year, but we're still playing with it. I think I spend just as much or more time chasing parts than actually working on it. Pretty soon the rolling chassis is going to move across town to my garage for storage, and the body parts are going to return to the workshop so we can start on them. Other major work areas are engine and transmission rebuild (will be outsourced). A few parts I'm looking for in case anyone has spares: Rear brake wheel cylinders in rebuild-able condition Hub caps (this is a long shot)

I have a pair of hub caps in desperate need of re-chroming.
