Hi again!
There's a new 20R engine coil in eBay. The Toyota part number is not excatly the same than in my engine so can I buy it and be sure it works with my engine?
There's no resistor in the coil, but in my coil there is one. How do I know if the coil in question works with resistor?
The part number is 90919-02077. The EPC does not tell me if this coil needs (or works with) resistor.
Thanks for helping!

Hey Mika! I'll call my friends over at the Toyota Parts Center tomorrow (Sunday) and ask them to do a cross reference on this part number. It will tell us which Toyota vehicles this part number applies.
I'll post the findings by Sunday evening.

Mika, I called my friends over at Toyota Parts and the Parts Director helped me. I 1st asked him what he was doing there on a Sunday. He was filling in for one of his employees who asked for the day off.
Anyways, I had him look up the coil for your RT134 and he found p/n 90919-02117. I asked him to do a cross reference on 90919-02077 and he said it was no longer in the data base ()
I would have to say go with the p/n that applies to your vehicle.
Hope this helps! Rick

Hi! The resistor on the coil is not for the coil. It is for the "points". If your car uses "points", it needs the resistor. If the car has an electronic ignition, it does not use a resistor. However, a newer electronic ignition used coil will give you higher performance.

OK, thanks. However, I still am not sure if I can buy that coil or not.

What is it I don't understand? However, I already ordered a coil with a proper part number so this actually is not a problem any more, but just wanted to know...
